Internal rhyme is a rhyme that happens in a single line of verse.
It is also called middle rhyme.
Here is an example from two of my poems which exemplify internal rhyme.
The road was windy and cluttered with stones,
and the bright moonlight made the stones look like bones.
With broken shutters and a creaky floor
the house moaned “hello” when I entered the door.
and
On a dark and dreary night
as I read by candlelight
and the autumn winds howled through the rain.
A chilling, cryptic breeze
made me weak in the knees
and I thought I was going insane.
