Meet Jax Stone (RATGIRL: Song of the Viper) and win a Critique

Today, is the scheduled the kick-off date of the virtual blog tour for RATGIRL: Song of the Viper. For the next month, Jax Stone and I will be touring blogs of other children’s authors to promote her story.

The Storyteller’s Scroll is a natural place to start. Jax and I would like my readers to know her story will be available February 15th at all online retail outlets such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple as both an e-book and a paperback.

So Jax, can you tell the readers a little about yourself?

Life in Metro City is hell, but I do the best I can for myself, and my little brother. I guess your readers would have to read RATGIRL:Song of the Viper to get the true picture of my life.

And why is that? It’s a YA dystopian novel, after all. Many already exist on bookstore shelves.

Yes, but my story is unique. It’s gritty, and scary, and yet tender at the same time. My friends and I are homeless orphans. We have no choice but to live in a dying city, ravaged by global warming and a tyrant mayor, who steals whatever he can from us—our electricity, our food, and even our children. I’m an expert at surviving in Metro City, where rats rival us for food and shelter, but I’m an amateur at fighting the immoral mayor when he kidnaps my little brother.

What do you do about that? How can you fight the establishment as corrupt as it sounds?

I don’t have a choice. I quickly need to master the role of a courageous opponent to gain my brother’s freedom. But I can’t do it without the support of my friends, and a stranger who knows secrets from my past, even I don’t know. He shows me the power of love.

So, how did you outwit the mayor with your plan?

I don’t want to give too much away. All I can say is, I use my hypnotic singing voice to lure the rats and save the children.

This sounds like an exciting story. The Pied Piper was never this electrifying. Can you offer the readers of The Storyteller’s Scroll an incentive to purchase your book.

Yes, I can. I’ve convinced my creator, Gayle C. Krause to giveaway a 1st chapter critique of an MG or YA novel.

To be eligible for her critique:

1.     leave the title of your novel in the comments section
2.     state what social media sites you used to spread the word about RATGIRL.

Okay, so a winner will be randomly selected by Random.org on the March15th and will be posted on The Storyteller’s Scroll.

The winner can contact me through my website link in the top right-hand corner of this blog.

Of course, any questions or communications are welcome through my website email as well.

Thanks, everyone for meeting me. Looking forward to sharing more of my life with you, soon.
