The children of the world are blissfully counting down the
days until Santa comes. So, for a minute let’s pretend you are one of those
kids….
You’re snuggled in your bed, tossing and turning. You
squeeze your eyes tight, hoping that counts for what your parent’s call sleep,
but you’re ears are tuned for any strange sound that might indicate Santa is
here.
You anticipate the morning. The toys you asked for will sit
beneath the tree, along with some special secret surprises, when suddenly you
think you hear a deep bass rhythm. You sit up in the dark, scan your room and a
guitar riff is added to the beat.
You spring from your bed, open your bedroom door and the
music grows louder. As you tiptoe downstairs, squinting in the bright light of
the living room you see a rockin’ reindeer band set up in front of your tree.
One jingles her bells. Another hits her paw with her
tambourine. Yet a third, keeps the beat with his drums. Two guitar players
compete with their tremblin’ base and screaming lead guitar, while another
spins on his head in a wild dance. A keyboard player pounds the keys while the
last reindeer croons into the mike. And standing in the spotlight, dancing to
the beat, with a microphone in his hand is Santa, but not the jolly old Santa
you expect. This Christmas dude is cool—sunglasses, a red silk scarf and a long
ponytail. This Santa is a Rock Star.
So what would you do if you were a child and you woke in the
middle of the night to find Rock Star Santa singing in your living room?
Give me your scenario. The best answer will win a signed
copy of ROCK STAR SANTA in time to be
shared with a special child or children on Christmas Eve.
