50 Word Challenge - Write a Children's Story in 50 Words or Less!

The lovely Vivian Kirkfield, children's author of the soon to be released, SWEET DREAMS, SARAH, has challenged us to write a story for children in fifty words or less.
I chose to write a silly one. Here it is:

ONCE UPON A FRACTURED FAIRY TALE

Cinderella planted three magic beans
in the frog pond, near the castle.
Soon a giant rose bush grew.
The Beast picked a rose off the beanstalk
and gave it to a Cat in a hat,
that tricked an ogre into dancing all night,
until the clock struck twelve.”

“Wait!”

“What?”

  3. I was trying to figure out from the title how you could possibly fit a fairy tale into 50 words. You had me laughing out loud. Great entry.
